Sometimes, patients are transferred using scheduled commercial flights. Hope works with airline companies to allow for the safe transfer of patients on a normal flight. Commercial medical transfers are highly complex operations requiring the coordination of airline operations, engineering, security, medical teams and hospitals at both ends.

Air ambulance planes, specialist physicians, nurses and flight crew are on standby 24H a day, ready to respond to international medical emergencies. Advanced life support and critical care equipment are utilised for bed to bed patient transfers.
